LOLBOOK is by far the funnest thing I’ve seen all week. LOOKBOOK.nu is a online community where the fashion obsessed (like myself) upload their outfit photos for the world to admire…and now poke fun at, awesome.
I’ve decided to start a Etsy Love Category for the site that I will update every Wednesday. Mainly because I have a collection of Etsy stores saved in my bookmarks, but also because Wednesday is my day off and I like to spend my free time playing on the inter web with you.
The honor of the first Etsy Love award goes to a independent designer in Portland Oregon with love for old hollywood glamor: Sarah Seven.
I just wanted to thank the peeps over at the Improper Bostonian for featuring me and the Closet Clean Out Clothing Swap. If you want to read the article it will be on stands for another week. I cant wait to meet all you lovely ladies at the swap!
While pursuing through some old photos on Flickr today I came across some that I don’t remember sharing with you. In October Kyle’s Mother flew up from Port Charlotte with a gift for me, a box filled with my favorite thing ever (besides puppies) vintage estate jewelry. Yeah, seriously check out all these jewels.
Kyle and I decided to get out of the city last weekend in search of covered bridges and antique shops. We packed up the dog and headed to Brattleboro Vermont. It was really refreshing to not know anything about the town and get to explore it. The people there were abnormally friendly, I don’t think I’ve ever had so many conversations with strangers.
I’ve teamed up with the lovely ladies from the Design Hive and Shoestring Magazine to host the the most fabulous clothes swap ever. If you thought swapping was fun, imagine swapping and shopping for handmade, designer and vintage items all in the same place. Drop you swap items off with us and we will sort them for you while you shop the market in the adjacent room.
Sunday, March 1st from 10am – 4:30pm
Where: Design Hive Market @ the Maria Baldwin School
SWAP DETAILS:
Drop-off 10am-12pm
* Bring a bag (or two) of women’s clothing, accessories, and/or shoes you’re ready to part with, making sure they’re in good condition.
Swap from 1-3 pm (for those on RSVP list)
* Come back with the reusable bag (we will provide) and leave with whatever you can carry out. No cash, no transactions, no worries!
Swap from 3-4 pm (for everyone else)
* If you didn’t bring a bag of clothes but want to participate in the swap, you can buy a reusable bag and fill it up for $10 (proceeds benefit charity)
* Any remaining clothes will be donated to a local charity

I was so busy adding bacon to websites and sending my friends 25 random facts about myself on Facebook that I almost forgot about a very important event. This week is three year anniversary of PunkyStyle.com. Happy 3rd blogirthday to us…yay! Also, I finally took a picture of those lace up jeans I bought last month.

Monday nights swap went wonderfully with over 70 in attendance, twenty one raffle items given away and 32 large bags of quality clothes donated to multiple Worcester charities. Overall I think it went pretty well for a only few weeks of planing. Thank you, to all my generous friends that donated items and time to the swap.

Our favorite independent designer market in Cambridge, The Design Hive just rolled out their calender for 2009 with a boat load of exciting events like fashion shows and wedding expos. I will even be hosting my first ever Boston Swap at the market March 1st. Shoppers get reusable totes ready and vendors get your applications in. It’s going to be a indie fabulous year.
