About time

Posted by punky on Sunday March 29, 2009 at 5:57 pm | For Sale |

I have about 60 more items that need to be added to the shop. I think I need an assistant, or maybe just a babysitter to make sure I dont spend 3 hours chatting on Twitter when I’m supposed to be updating the store.  How do you gals keep yourself on track, I could use some advice.

It’s been a while since I’ve done some outfit posts. It will be a lot easier to keep up with now that the snow has melted from my backyard. Yay spring!!

Get Green and Groovy

design hive

Next weekend I will be in Cambridge picking out a Necktie from the Lilian Asterfield collection (the last time I was at the market I was running the clothing swap and didn’t have time to pick one out). The Design Hive is hosting it’s Green and Groovy event, which sounds like a swinging good time.

From the D.H. Website: The Design Hive is an independent designers market featuring a live DJ and over 50 of Boston’s best emerging designers under one roof selling handmade, one-of-a-kind clothing (new + vintage), accessories, jewelry, housewares, paper goods, and more!

On Sunday April 5th, we’ll be hosting “Get Green and Groovy” featuring products made from salvaged and recycled materials by local indie designers. In addition to our regular music-meets-market mashup,  Fashion With Impact (FWI) will be hosting a fashion show at 1pm. FWI will adorn the runway with recycled fashions and debut its Re/fash-en collection of unique garments made from recycled fabrics.

Show me your Blog Spot

Posted by punky on Saturday March 21, 2009 at 11:58 am | Random |

Daddy Likey created a fun little “Tagged” post and asked us all to play along.

1. Once you are tagged, post a picture of where you blog.
2. Feel free to tell us a little about your space, or explain certain items in more detail. Or not.
3. Link back to this post. (I want to see how far this goes!)
4. Tag five other bloggers to show their blog spots.
5. If you are tagged and do not participate, you will become allergic to cabbage.
So here goes nothing… My bloggin’ spot:

I don’t really have a blog spot per say, I kind of just plop myself down on my couch, unless there are boys wearing animal masks playing Rock Band in the living room.

I tag:

Kyle

Thias

Liana

Kori

Kara

And anyone else who wants to play.

At the Drive-in

Posted by punky on Thursday March 19, 2009 at 10:19 am | New England, Outfitted |

If you live in New England I’m sure you also dropped whatever you were doing yesterday to go play out side.

I drive by this abandon Drive-in Movie Theater every day on my way to work and I often think about how fun it would be to sneak around the gates and explore. Kyle finally agreed to come with me (I think the train bridge incident left a bad taste in his mouth).

I’m officially one of those crazy people that carry around pictures of their pets/kids and shares them with anyone that will pay attention. I’m sorry, but he is just too cute.

I want to make you something

crafttime

This Note has been floating around Facebook this week and I thought it could be a cute way to interact with my fellow bloggers.

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me. (usa only)

This offer does have some restrictions so please read carefully:

- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.
- What I create will be just for YOU & you are allowed to make requests (and I will try to honor them)
- It will be done this year (2009).
- It will be something made in the real world and not something over the internet.
- It might be cookies, a mix cd, a necklace, an original haiku, a scarf…who knows!

In return, all you need to do is repost this on your blog and offer to make 5 things for 5 other people and then link back to the blog you found it on.

The Modepass Traveling Project is back with Eple & Melk

Posted by punky on Thursday March 12, 2009 at 12:00 am | Note from punks, Outfitted, Punky Loves, Random |

You might remember last year twelve blogger’s doing a project with Modepass and Heimstone called the Traveling Jacket, where we mailed a single jacket around the world and styled and photographed the item ourselves. Well, we had so much fun Modepass is letting us do it again: Eple & Melk Traveling Jacket,

I have a funny story involving this jacket. The week I received it, it rained like crazy, there was one clear day that week and I already had tickets to the Blitzen Trapper show a hour away. I figured we could just find a cool place for a photo shoot along the way. Which we did, but that “cool place” turned out to be forbidden railway’s protected by the homeland security laws…Oops. By the time we convinced the police we were not terrorists, I didn’t have time to change and I had to wear this outfit to dinner and the concert ( FYI: acceptable attire for a Blitzen Trapper show is a dirty ironic tee shirt or plaid button down.)

DIY, Tie Dye Scarf

Posted by punky on Wednesday March 11, 2009 at 3:57 pm | DIY |

The other night while trying to organize my craft storage, I found a box of Rit Dye from last spring when I was dying everything in site. I have had my eye the American Apparel Circular Scarf for a while and decided this would be a good time to make it myself.  I happy with the way it came out, what do you think?

I’m Your Present

Posted by punky on Wednesday March 11, 2009 at 4:00 am | Etsy Love |

This weeks Etsy Love award goes to I’m your Present.

I came across her Etsy store while searching for local artists in my state. Her profile was just too cute. She talks about how her grandmother hunts down materials for her and when her BF helps her with packages, she pays him with pizza, which is how it works at our house, except Kyle gets video games in return for design work. I think I need to renogiate.

I was your silver lining

Posted by punky on Monday March 9, 2009 at 10:39 pm | Punky Loves |

It’s been a while since I’ve a posted a “Punky Loves” Post.  These are the items from my jewelry box shelf getting the most wear this winter. The skull ring was a gift and one of the first items I ever posted on this blog. The glass ring all the way to the left was custom made for me by a designer who has made jewelry for Britney Spears and Ozzy which is pretty rad and the spoon ring belongs to my mother, I borrowed it from her when I was in 9th grade and never gave it back. Sorry Mom.

Plymouth Rocks

Posted by punky on Sunday March 8, 2009 at 1:41 pm | Outfitted |

We spent our Saturday in Plymouth, MA hanging out with family, thrifting and pretending to be tourist. I spent my summers in Plymouth growing up and Kyle has family there. It’s was nice to discover new things to love about a place I already had many fond memories of.

Oh, yeah and in typical sibling rivalry form, I had to get a hamster too, meet Sheldon:

Outfit: jacket and dress from Clothing Swap, H&M leggings, vintage boots, RayBan and Chanel purse.
