Womag

With all the Project Haberdash and Swap chaos going down, I almost forgot to thank Worcester Magazine for mentioning me in their annual Best of Worcester issue. I’ve been reading Womag for as long as I can remember. My dad would give me a few bucks to get ice cream and Fritos at Day and Night in Quinsig Village if I brought him home the latest Womag and Want Advertiser. But anyway, thank you Womag for the kind words.

It’s Swap time again!!

Inspiration

shoes

shoe display

Having the perfect shoe display is going to the hardest part of this whole mobile vintage store project (which we are now calling Project Haberdash). At first I was thinking I can buy some sort of closet building kit and be done with it. But I’ve realized  that building all the racks and displays myself with creative materials will make this project much more rewarding. If you would like to see the work in progress the photos are here.

Nostalgia Exchange

Posted by punky on Thursday April 23, 2009 at 10:49 am | Must See Stores, New England |

I was in the Canal District on Saturday shopping at Brickyard Antiques, and stopped in to The Nostalgia Exchange for the first time. I took some photos to share with you.  You should really go see the place for yourself. The owners were so friendly and excited about the growing of the neighborhood. They gave me a tour of the new consignment store opening next door as well as the loft apartments above them and even the the mill building on Green street that will eventually be a antique mall.

Have style – will travel!

I made the cutest purchase today! This 1950’s Vintage Bellwood Trailer is going to be the new home to Punky’s Vintage. After months of looking around for the perfect store front, I was inspired to go the non traditional route. I hope you will follow my fantastic journey of repurposing this Vintage Classic into the most fabulous mobile vintage store you have ever seen.  I’m currently making a list of markets and events to attend, so if you have a suggestion or just want to check out our mobile store shoot me an email!

Also, get ready for our super hip grand opening party…more to come.

What a riot

The pictures from the Photo Booth at Wine Riot are too cute to not repost. The Second Glass sure knows how to host a party. I suggest you get on the mailing list pronto, you do not want to miss their next event.

Out Growing Headquarters

Posted by punky on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at 6:45 pm | Etsy Love, For Sale |

About a year ago I transformed the loft in my home into Punky’s Vintage Headquarters. This space was supposed to serve as my office, a portrait studio as well as storage space for the items going in the Etsy Shop. Sounds like a good idea right? Well, now let me show you what happens when you neglect your Etsy Shop and spend your winter buying hamsters, planning clothing swaps and watching reruns of 30 Rock.

The result:

I need to get my act together or maybe it’s time to go Brick And Mortar…Dun dun dun.

Chronicle Video

This is the clip of my friends and I on Chronicle tonight. I wanted to thank my friend Meghan for letting us girls and the cameras into her beautiful loft for the night, and Melissa for keeping me calm, (I have a tendency to freak out when I have to talk on camera).

Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Flickr so you wont miss the next swap.

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you all get hamsters in your Easter baskets.

In the News…

Posted by punky on Friday April 10, 2009 at 11:50 am | New England, Note from punks |

I’ve been keeping secrets from you. A few weeks ago my friends and I gave a sneak peek of our private Clothing Swap to the cameras of the TV show Chronicle HD. When the producer contacted me I was more then thrilled. I grew up watching this show with my dad, so this is kind of a big deal for me. I hope all you New Englanders will tune in Monday at 7:30 pm.

Metal Sugar

Posted by punky on Wednesday April 8, 2009 at 10:49 am | Etsy Love |

I came across Metal Sugar while desperately searching for affordable two finger rings for a reader that had asked for my help. I instantly loved this store so chic and so sassy.

She has more cute stuff on her website.

I Just Dyed In Your Arms Tonight

I’m still obsessed with tie dye, I did this nightgown and sweatshirt a few weeks ago because I never wore them, now I wear them all the time.

I think im going a put a few of the circle Scarfs in the Etsy store. Stay tuned.

Miss Ruby Sue

Posted by punky on Wednesday April 1, 2009 at 3:44 pm | Etsy Love |

The fashion blog world seems to be obsessing over bib necklaces lately. I thought it would be the perfect week to post about Miss Ruby Sues shop. It blows my mind that the creative mind behind these beautiful items is a mother of four. I barely have time to hem my jeans and I just play mom to a feisty pomeranian and a hyper hamster.

Follow her on Twitter for special sales.

The Swapaholic

Posted by punky on Wednesday April 1, 2009 at 11:37 am | Outfitted |

I just realized I never showed you my scores from the Boston Swap. I’ll start with this cream three quarter sleeve faux fur coat. I never would have gave this coat a second look if it were hanging in a store with price tags on it. It seems I’m willing to take more risks with clothing when I don’t have to open my wallet.

In other Swap related news: In an attempt to keep you updated with all Swap Projects, Shoestring and I are teaming up to bring you The Swapaholics!

Website coming soon, follow us now on Twitter.

Wearing: Swap jacket, Target ruffle tank, diy shredded shorts with chains, vintage boots and Chanel purse.
