Today is the 2 year anniversary of the first swap hosted with Melissa! This led to the creation of the Swapaholics. We wanted to celebrate our 2 years anniversary with something fun, so we did what we do best…created a new blog!

We arrived safely in LA (16 magazines and 8 episodes of Teen Mom later). Melissa and I spent the day checking out Catchlight Studios and the neighborhood around it for tomorrow’s Swap. We hit up Wasteland, American Vintage, Slow, and Goodwill and then drove 986986 miles to find a Target for some last minute supplies (clothes hangers and a Joan Rivers DVD). All while it poured buckets on us…what’s up with that sunny LA?

I’m heading off to the west coast bright and early in the morning to host The Green the Red Carpet Clothing Swap with my fellow start up buddies The Second Glass. This reminded me that I never posted our Swap Day video. My male BFF Joey made me this video (which is really long but has good music) to show people exactly what happens at our clothes swaps. I hope you’ll watch.
Also while I have you here, I have to show you the bags we have for our Austin, Texas Swap. My friend Jen (jenloveskev) and her husband made them for us. I cant wait to give them out to all the Texas Style Council attendees.
I’m totally obsessed with trains and train stations. Every time we drive by a new one I want to go inside. I’m not sure if it’s because I had train tracks in my back yard growing up, or the all those cheesy romance movies of people reconnecting on the platform. I’m just so drawn to them. My dad use to take me up to Vermont every summer so we could travel the mountains by train, I need to add that to my todo list this summer.
This very cute Woonsocket RI, victorian-style train station was built in 1882 by the Providence and Worcester Railroad Company. It is not currently being used as a working railway, which is kinda sad.

Today was our Worcester Pop Up Swap. The space we usually use for events in the Canal District is gorgeous, but sadly it’s not heated. So we moved a block over to Blackstone Tap, they were more then accommodating for us (thanks guys). Today’s swap was the most laid back one we’ve hosted in a very long time. We had time to talk to everyone, browse the racks, order lunch and eat it…that never happens on swap day! It was nice to relax a little, since next week we’re off to LA.

Last Thursday while in NYC I hit up the IFB Conference with Jen and Julie. It was good to catch up with old blogger friends and meet some new bloggers as well. I didn’t really learn to much at the conference. I think the last 2 years working on Haberdash and The Swapaholics has been a pretty advanced lesson of the interwebs. But I did take home some inspiration and new friends and that is priceless.
Back from NYC and I spent the rest of my weekend cuddling with puppies and attending flash mobs at Coney Island (I couldn’t make this stuff up). I did however, hit up my favorite Worcester consignment store (Alexis Grace) for some some cute vintage jewelry.

I’m in NYC for Fashion Week with Jen and Julie and guess who we saw in the Soho Chanel store today…Lady Gaga! She’s pretty much awesome at life and I took like 30 photos of her like a creep.
As if seeing Lady Gaga wasn’t cool enough, right after that we ran in to Pamela from Market Publique and she gave us a tour of her Brooklyn Studio, which quickly turned into us playing dress up, vintage photo shoots, massive amounts of BBQ and beers no one could pronunce. To much fun for one day, excited we get to see those girls again tomorrow at the IFB Conference.
Happy Nacho Dip Day (Super Bowl Sunday)! I’m not really into sports so I will be playing in my closet tonight and picking out some outfits for New York Fashion Week. I might have to pay a visit to The Haberdash also. I am always afraid of showing up at Fashion Week wearing the same dress as someone, so I try to wear vintage for the whole week. I’m heading down super early on Tuesday with my friends Jen and Julie, which I’m super duper excited about! We are going to the Lucky Magazine Conference and also The IFB Conference. Are you going to be in NYC?
How flipping sick of the snow are we? I bought a new car this week (Yay Impreza), I was so tried of feeling stranded in the house. This is my 3rd Subaru and I’m kinda in love with it and the all wheel drive already. Penny and Emma are loving the heated seats. Anyhoo, what im wearing today:
