On Sunday while we were out and dressed for the Haberdash shoot, Adam and I played around with his new 5D camera. It takes amazing video, but I havent quite mastered the art of editing them. So all I have today is the photos…boo.

Haberdash Shoot

Posted by punky on Monday March 28, 2011 at 11:43 am | Haberdash, Outfitted |

This weekend was pretty low key, we laid around watching old hockey movies (does The Mighty Ducks even count as hockey)? I also went to my favorite Hot Dog Stand with 40 of my friends to create a mini flash mob. Then on Sunday Adam and I took the Haberdash over to our friends pond to do some promo shots for a upcoming magazine feature. It was 30 degrees out but the photos were suposed to be summeresque, I hope I fooled you. Do you like them?

Buddy Brunch

Posted by punky on Monday March 21, 2011 at 11:57 am | Punky Loves |

When I was 25ish I remember telling everyone I’m never going to be one of those people that’s lame and stays home the time. “I’m going to stay out late every weekend and dance with all my friends”.
Ya right. All that changed the instant I turned 30. I quit my bartending job, I stayed home drinking tea and cuddling with puppies on friday nights. What I didn’t expect was all my friends to be right on the same page. So now we do things like Sunday Brunch. Which beats yelling over crappy bands in dive bars any day.

Texas Style Panels

Posted by punky on Thursday March 17, 2011 at 2:24 pm | Outfitted, Random |

Sunday was the last day of the Texas Style Council Conference. It was an exciting and terrifying day for me. When Indiana asked me to moderate the Careers panel, I was super surprised. It’s funny how you dont realize the knowledge you have on a subject when you are just living life, doing what you do. I was completely nervous all weekend long about asking business questions to a fashion crowd. It can get real boring real fast. I also didn’t want to throw around all the nerdy start up terms that no one cares about (including me). So, I hope I didn’t bore you to much and if you have any questions about using your blog to launch your business, I do have loads of advice to offer, even if I cant eloquently convey it to a crowd of people.

Swapping in Austin

Posted by punky on Wednesday March 16, 2011 at 8:30 am | Clothes Swaps |

The Swap that we hosted for the Texas Style Council Conference this past friday was one of my all time favorites! The space on 2nd Street in Austin was a clean slate and the walls were made of glass. It kind of made waiting in line like a sneak peek into the Swap. Market Publique shipped a huge box of vintage goodies to seed the swap with. We also tested out a new tagging system so you could see who used to own your item. It was so cool to see familiar blogger faces coming in and dropping off their donations. I loved catching up with Grechen and Indiana, I’ve known them both for about 5 years, but never met them in real life till this weekend. Crazy!

We are Austin Live

Posted by punky on Wednesday March 16, 2011 at 12:33 am | Clothes Swaps |

We arrived in to Texas Thursday to film a segment about our Swap on We Are Austin Live. It was the my first time in a real “Green Room” which is kinda weird. They make you stay in this tiny room and watch the segments live and then they pull you out and mic you 30 seconds before your segment. It has to be one of the most stressful things that our job requires. Melissa and I often flip coins to see who has to go on tv. I thought we would get used to it, but we are always terrified.

I’m back in Mass and it FREEZING, now I really miss Texas! I think I will have to do about 10 recaps of Austin because there is just so much awesome stuff to cover. Adam took so many amazing photos I dont want them to be missed. Between Friday’s Swap and moderating the Careers panel on Sunday, Saturday was most relaxing day for us. We just hung out, visited some food trucks, stole some puppies and and bonded with our new blogger friends at the conference.

Edaville

Posted by punky on Monday March 7, 2011 at 8:00 am | Outfitted |

These photos were also taken on Saturday’s Day Date, There was so many of them I had to split them up. Edaville Railroad was a train themed amusement park that was located in the town next to Plymouth. We went there almost every weekend in the 80’s I was obsessed with the horse carousel and the petting zoo. They often had classic car rallys too, which was right up my ally. I’m pretty sure this place was abandoned, I found a ton of their train and museum memorabilia in A flea market in Dudley. I guess the guy that runs the flea market also loves trains.

Day Date

Posted by punky on Sunday March 6, 2011 at 9:47 am | Outfitted |

Yesterday was Day Date Saturday, Adam sent me a meeting request while I was in LA to make sure I would schedule him in. Any time I have a free 6 hours or more, I end up down the Cape. I probably told you 30 times, but I spent my summers in Plymouth, MA growing up, so I’m super attached to the little touristy beach town. I’ve been begging my dad for years to sell me his place down there so I can fill it with vintage and spend my summers there. So far no go, but I’m not giving up (pretty please dad).

Last day in LA

Posted by punky on Friday March 4, 2011 at 9:39 pm | Outfitted |

Our last day in LA was spent soaking up as much sun as we could, while cleaning up the studio rental and making sure all the leftover items made it safe and sound to Goodwill of Socal. We also squeezed in a fun lunch date with the lovely Marisa from New Dress a Day. It’s really cool that Swap.com has sent us on this Swap tour. We are getting to meet all the interesting and fashionable people that (who also share a love for swapping) we’ve been chatting with online for years, which is super awesome.

TJMaxx Spring Preview

Posted by punky on Thursday March 3, 2011 at 5:13 pm | Window Shopping |

Julie and I hit up Woodward at Ames Hotel this morning to check out the T.J.Maxx and Marshalls Spring Preview. It was so refreshing to see all the bright colors and fabrics. I’m not one to whine about the weather but after having a taste of the sun for a few days in California, I cant wait for spring and to be able to wear dresses with out tights and boots.

Sunny LA

Posted by punky on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at 7:12 pm | Outfitted |

Thankfully the rain didn’t rain on our parade this week, after a miserable friday of running around doing last minute errands for our swap. We woke up to a bright and cheery weekend in Beverly Hills. I will have a full recap of the Sip and Swap tomorrow. But for now, I would love to share with you our pretty Sunday in photos. The day after every event Melissa and I like to go out to breakfast to refuel and discuss what we loved about the night and what we can improve on…Oh yeah, and take outfit photos.
