Clorox Green Works

green works

As you might have read, one of my resolutions this year was to do my part to better the environment. I may be taking “my part” a little to seriously, running around turning off lights, unplugging appliances, recycling, replacing all the cleaning products with environment friendly alternatives. I’m trying really hard to Live green and Clorox just made my job a little easier with the Green Works line. Green Works is made with 99% natural biodegradable ingredients, is not tested on animals and bottled in recyclable packaging.

I buy all my cleaningf products to be “Green” even for my cleaning business, but my major issue with this is that is it still CLOROX and I am not going to spend my money on a company on besides one product destroys the earth and test viciously on animals. This one product may be there solution for individuals who do not know much about the CORPORATE powerhosue that is CLOROX. I have also had to boycott Bert’s Bees since it has been taken over from this NON GREEN giant….
Stick to Method, Mrs.Meyers and Ecover. All safe animal, people and earth friendly.

Your right, Clorox still does animal testing for their products with exception of the green line. But for people who remain loyal to the household brand, and would not otherwise try something new, I’m thinking this will be a better option.

I think for the pricepoint there is Ecover.. Which runs in the 3-5 dollar range. You can get there products at Shaws & Whole Foods. Also go to there website www.ecover.com to sign up for coupons.. But yes for people loyal to a brand it is a much better alternative..

I prefer method, but I don’t think they have a toilet bowl cleaner. I’ll have to check trader joes and see what they have…speaking of TJ’s, Linnea was supposed to be reviewing their health and beauty products for my site this week. I hope she has time.

Method is fantastic cleaning products if you’re looking for a green alternative. And as far as cleaning the toilette, a little baking soda or white vinegar goes a long way. Congrats on trying to be greener, I’m currently attempting the same.

thanks for the heads up! we’ve been using simple green for years but sometimes it just doesn’t do the job. this would be a great alternative.

  • Eye says:

Oh my, thank you for this. I was in search of some green friendly cleaning products!

  • KB says:

Clorox actually does not test any of its products on its animals and I’ve tried the Greenworks products and they work great! Trader Joe’s/Method/Ecover don’t work nearly as well. I’m definitely sold!

  • Cara Smith says:

    Green Works does not DISINFECT.

I’ll buy Clorox brand “green” cleaners when the other 99% of their toxic chemical cleaners are taken off the market. Bleach, anyone?

Why support a corporate monolith jumping on the “green” bandwagon when there are dozens of smaller companies who ONLY make non-toxoc cleaners?

Don’t be fooled by anybody who talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk.

Method does have toilet bowl cleaner…its called Little Bowl Blue!!! Sold at Target ;)
