I received the best text message last night while I was up north visiting my mom. The message said “your magazine is out”. Mom and I immediately jumped in the car and headed to the bookstore. FYI: Running around a bookstore looking for a magazine to read about yourself is hugely narcissistic. But having your mom be so proud that she shows everyone in the store makes it OK.

It is unbelievable how much work and talent is needed to create that one perfect picture that used in a magazine. New Hat Day

I got a new hat this weekend, I think every single one of my friends made fun of it. I also got a new shiny red tea pot…but no one made fun of that.

Wearing: new hat (hence the new hat post), this vintage bag, vintage jumper and belt soon to be in Haberdash Vintage and Vivienne Westwood suede ankle booties.

Worcester Historical Museum Swap

My new start up The Swapaholics has partnered up with the Worcester Historical Museum to bring you a Clothing Swap to benefit fashion exhibits at WHM.

Admission: $3 for those who donate clothes; $5 for others

How to donate:

Please deliver all clothes to WHM from February 1-10
Museum hours: Tuesday thru Friday 10AM-4PM or
bring your items before the swap on February 13 9AM-10AM

Womens clothes and accessories only
Clothes must be laundered and in excellent condition.
All remaining clothes will be donated to a local charity.

Meet Cooper

Last night Kyle and I went to Connecticut, to grab some dinner and hit up some thrift stores. After missing Sheldon all day, I decided I was ready to look at new baby hamsters. Three pet stores later, we brought home a baby girl named Cooper.

I would beg my girlfriends (and sometimes strangers) to show me what items they carry around on a daily basis. When I found this group on Flickr last week it inspired me to bring back that feature. Artifaktori’s Dress Up Soriee was a dapper good time. Lots of glam, lots of laughs and maybe a little too much champagne. Upstairs on the Square is always a lovely time, it’s just the perfect place to head to when your all gussied up.

In theme with Gatz, a touring show based on The Great Gatsby, the ladies of LUPEC (Ladies United for the Preservation of Endangered Cocktails) will be mixing 1920’s inspired cocktails and Artifaktori, Poor Little Rich Girl and Vintage Revenge will show off glamorous deco fashions. Come by for a savory sip and socializing with a costumed crowd.
